And Christmas is here at last! We have been counting together the days until Christmas during all this month and... Santa Claus comes tonight! I am very excited, and you? I can´t wait! Apple bobbing is a very popular and funny Halloween game. It consists of trying to get an apple out of a bowl full of water without using your hands. Not easy!

"Trick or treat" is what kids say when they go to ask for some sweets the Halloween evening. It is very funny: they knock on the doors of their neighbours in their Halloween costumes and they get lots of sweets. Yummy! Look at this scary song...

This year we are going to dedicate our Halloween activities to the SKELETONS. I found this funny cartoon titled FUNNY BONES by the BBC. This is how the story begins:

Down the dark dark stairs, there was a dark dark cellar.

Halloween is nearly here! Have you already carved your pumpkin? Remember that we have got a pumpkin display at the hall of our school and I´m looking forward to seeing yours. Meanwhile, have a look at this video and learn some Halloween vocabulary. Scary!

HEALTHY BREAKFAST

Do you have a proper breakfast every day? I´m sure you do. It is necessary to do a healthy breakfast because breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You all already know that it is very important to eat healthy food. Fruit and vegetables must be in your daily diet. I´m thinking that I´m going to prepare some fruit salad for dessert. Yummy! Do you want to help me? We have to peel different fruits like apples, pears, oranges, peaches, bananas, ... Then we will chop them and put them in a bowl. Add some juice and sugar and that´s it! Come on! Hands on! It´s going to be delicious!

THE COUNT´S PICNIC

Do you fancy a picnic? Then we can go with the Count of Sesame Street and have a delicious one. But there is one problem: the ants. Will we be able to eat our food before the ants take it away?

WE ARE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT

Today we have been explorers for a while. We went to the wood and we saw several animals: a rabbit on the path, a turtle, a duck and a fish in the river, a bat in a cave and a bird on a tree. And now why don´t we go on a bear hunt? Are you scared? No? Ok then, there we go...

DEAR ZOO

Now that we are learning the jungle animals it´s a good moment to read a jungle story. Well... it´s not exactly a jungle story. It´s about a boy who wrote to the zoo to send him a pet. But every time he received one, there was a problem. Listen carefully, please. You´ll enjoy it!

WORLD BOOK DAY

Today, April the 23rd, is World Book Day. I´m sure you are all good readers and you can recommend me a great book. But... do you know the legend of St. George and the dragon? Because today is also St. George´s Day, patron saint of England. Have a look at this video...

EASTER EGG HUNT 4 and 5-year-olds

EASTER EGG HUNT - 3-year-olds

Yes! The Easter Bunny came today to our school and left some chocolate eggs for us! But to get them, we first had to find a giant Easter egg hidden in the playground. It was fun! Look at the photos and you will see... Oh! By the way, the chocolate eggs were delicious! Yummy!

INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN´S BOOK DAY

Today, April the 2nd, is the International Children´s Book Day. It is celebrated on this day because it´s the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, a famous writer for kids. I´m sure you know the majority of his stories: "The little mermaid", "The emperor´s new clothes", "The fir tree", .... Here is one of my favourites: "The ugly duckling". Enjoy it!

STORYTELLING IN ENGLISH!

Next Tuesday, April the 5th, we are all going to the red school to see a storytelling in English by Face2Face, a theatre company from Madrid. They will tell us "Busy Bee", the story of Busy and its friends. These days, at school, we are learning the vocabulary, the songs and the plot of the tale and that will help us follow the story. I´m sure we will have fun.

HANDWASHING DANCE

You already know how important it is to wash our hands. But do you know that there is a Global Handwashing Day? It is celebrated on the 15th of October every year to promote handwashing among children around the world.
As part of this effort, the famous Japanese dancer Kaiji Moriyama choreographed a dance for a public service announcement designed to teach children the principles of good handwashing.
The dance shows children how in just 20 seconds they can properly wash their palms, nails, fingers and wrists. The dance has almost no verbal instruction, but, by simply following the steps, children learn proper handwashing while also having fun.

Why don´t you learn some hygiene habits with this song? It´s titled "This is the way" and it´s sung by a group of 7-year-old Chinese kids. Don´t act like Dirty Bertie!

DIRTY BERTIE

How disgusting! Bertie has got so filthy habits that everyone knows him as Dirty Bertie. What sort of things does he usually do? Well, he picks sweets off the floor and eats them up, he plays with worms, he licks his dog´s face and he picks bogies out of his nose and sometimes he eats them. Yuk! And do you remember what we say every time he does something dirty?:

Have you seen "Tangled"? It is the last Disney film and it´s amazing. It is the story of Rapunzel, the girl with long long blong magical hair. You can´t miss it.

Today is a very important date: School Day for Peace and Non-Violence. Tomorrow, at school, we are going to celebrate it all together as one: old and young, boys and girls, pupils and students, Infants and Primary kids, ... JACK FROST

These days we have been learning who Jack Frost is. Remember that he is a creature who appears in the winter and paints our windows with frost and ice on cold mornings. He is terribly naughty and he loves playing in the snow. Now you can see him in this animated musical short helping a baby grizzly bear who disobeys his mother and goes out of his cave in the winter. 

LET´S BUILD A SNOWMAN!

And now... why don´t we build a snowman as we did in the classroom? We need two snowballs, one big for the body and one small for its head. Then we need two stones for its eyes, a carrot for its nose, a twig for its mouth and two bigger twigs for its arms. And finally let´s add some clothes: a hat, a scarf and 3 buttons. Finished!

IT´S WINTER!

It´s winter! Have you noticed it? It´s very cold and we have to wear warm clothes: coats, scarves, hats, boots, ... If we are lucky, maybe one day the Winter Fairy will send us a bit of snow. I wish!!! To learn the winter vocabulary, you can watch this video and then try to do the final test. Good luck!
